The latest in fishing equipment

The 3D Hunting & Fishing team tested 3 new lures that recently came out on the market. Two of them are manufactured by KO-MAN-CHI and the other by Storm. Here is what the tests revealed:

ThunderCore Dawg (white)

Advantages:
The outer body is constructed of durable,
flexible plastic
The internal core is of hard polycarbonate
(to which a holographic flash foil is laminated)
Superior quality VMC hooks included
Unique design that allows anglers to choose from
4 different triggering actions simply by moving the hook
Holographic eyes
Extra-large polycarbonate diving lip
Swimming depth of about 4 feet

Disadvantages:
Lure movement isn’t lifelike enough
The tail doesn’t generate enough triggering action

Kickin’Minnow

Advantages:
Very realistic triggering action
The segmented body produces very realistic tail movements
8 semi-holographic colours
Holographic eyes

Disadvantages :
Dives too deeply and gets stuck on any lake or river-bottom debris
Not very durable
The lure is very heavy

The 4” REAL MINNOW JERK by KO-MAN-CHI

Advantages: 11 innovative colours that sparkle brightly when underwater; bright realistic eyes which give the lure an increased appearance of lifelikeness.

Disadvantages: this lure does not move as it should because of its double-articulated joint which does not at all behave as one would expects it to—except when one retrieves the line very quickly! This defect is caused by the double metal ring which links the sections together.

The 4`` CRAWTUBE by KO-MAN-CHI

Advantages: Very strong and longlasting scent. 13 colours that sparkle with a startling brilliancy when underwater.  The lure is easy to use when casting because of its fairly substantial weight.

Disadvantages: The CRAWTUBE moves very little because of its somewhat over-embellished tail-end.

The THUNDERCORE SQUIRTER by Storm

Advantages: At last a short lure that can be cast with marvellous ease! Available in 7 colours and accompanied with a loud rattling sound, the ThunderCore Squirter is very impressive underwater. The lure has a hard internal core and holographic eyes, both aspects that increase its lifelikeness and visibility.

Disadvantages: Even though the lure’s construction is very robust, the tail is not interchangeable: if it gets bitten off, it cannot be exchanged with other lure tails.
